I am in my 50's, and was referred to Dr. Scanlan's office by my dentist. I have experienced severe TMJ pain for many, many years. First, Dr. Scanlan is the first medical professional to inform me of arthritis in both joints! Second, he was very forthright in his opinion of the success of using braces as a treatment. After 16 months, my braces are off & I am happy to report that I no longer live in 24/7 pain. It is not completely a pain-free life, but I knew that going in to this process---thanks to Dr. Scanlan's honesty. This is the best practice (of any medical or dental specialties) I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I have referred friends and will be taking both of my grandchildren in for treatment!
